Ram K Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 I plan to stay at New York 4* hotel near or around Times Square on 8/18 and 8/19. My budget is $175/night. Any help is appreciated in bidding tips. Never did bidding on Priceline before.ThanksRam K
AaronJB Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Is Times Square the only acceptable zone? This is generally the busiest and most expensive zone in the city; other nearby zones (MTE, for example) are generally at least a bit more reasonable. I think you could get a 4* around $175 a night for these date/s (maybe a few bucks higher), but Midtown East is probably going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of around $20-30 +/- a night cheaper.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 I will add that on HOTWIRE what appears to be the Warwick Hotel is offered for $165/nite... this hotel is generally considered to be in a good location, easy access to the subway, and walkable to Times Square (while not specifically in the Times Square zone... a few blocks outside of it).Not sure if you're interested in trying to target this property for this price or want to try bidding on PRICELINE.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we will take it from there. If you'd like to move forward by bidding, please let us know the names of the zones, by PRICELINE name, that you're willing to accept and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
