retfar Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 Hi there. I need to book a hotel for Vegas for May 2-7, 2014. Is it too early to start booking now or would it be better to wait until early next year? I'm looking at staying at a 5* Strip North hotel. My last four visits to Vegas, I've stayed at the Wynn or the Venetian by buying through PRICELINE so I've been really lucky. I pretty much want to stay at either Wynn, Venetian or Palazzo. These are the only 5* hotels in Strip North, right? I don't want the Trump. If you can help me with a bidding strategy, that would be awesome. In May this year, I was at the Venetian and got it for $120 a night. So I'm hoping for the same month next year I could get it for around the same price or up to $140 or so, I guess. Thanks in advance. :)Oh, forgot Encore is also 5* and it would be great to stay there too.

retfar Posted August 4, 2013 Author Report Posted August 4, 2013 Thanks. I've now clicked and searched using those links. :)
AaronJB Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 It's a little far in advance at this point, but it's not too early to start researching and looking at possible initial bids. At this point, given the rates I'm seeing, I don't think $140 is going to be enough for a 5* in Strip North, but I think getting something under $140 in Strip South should not be difficult.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 I would start bidding now since as per above $140 for the Strip North zone would be a 'good deal' at current prices, and you have the following conventions taking place during your dates above:20K convention ending on 5/2 (some attendees may stay a day later so this may still effect hotel demand for this nite)10K convention 5/5-5/830K convention 5/6-5/8Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of help with a bidding strategy or any other information.Good luck.
