Hello,

I'll be traveling to to NYC and was hoping to get the boards bidding strategy help to get a 3* or 4* in Times square for checkin in next Friday Aug 9 and check out Sun Aug 11 for 2 rooms. I'm not sure if this is a busy time or not so not sure where to start. Would appreciate any help anyone can provide. The other question I have is, I will be traveling with 6 children. Would the hotels accept 4 and 3 in each room? :-0

The other bidding strategy help I would need is for 4* hotel in Midtown East or West for 2 night as of Sept 3. What would your advice be on how to bid and at which price to start?

Thank you very much,

Welcome to Betterbidding.

This is (at least traditionally) not a busy time, but rates have unfortunately gone up in the last few years and the Summer in NYC is not as reasonable (as NYC goes) as it used to be.

What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?

PRICELINE only guarantees one bed/double occupancy and probably nowhere in the US is that more true than NYC, where rooms are often small/very small. Using PRICELINE with the hopes of getting more than 1 bed in NYC is definitely a risk. HOTWIRE, where you can indicate the amount of people and get some form of bedding for the amount of people in the room (may be 2 beds, 1 + 1 rollaway, 1 + sofabed)

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Thanks for the quick response.

Budget for the Times Square stay would be: $160 - occupancy 7 people

Budget for the Midtwon East/West stay would be $180 - occupancy 2 people

For the Times Square stay, looks like Priceline is too risky so if you could help me with Hotwire (never used that)

For the Midtown East/West, if you could help me using Priceline.

Thank you.

We will use this thread for your Aug 9-11 stay, please start a NEW TOPIC for your Sept 3rd stay.

Are you 1adult/6chidren for this trip? NOTE that technically PRICELINE and HOTWIRE require at least one adult per room, as there is no assurance that you'll be able to get two rooms that are connecting.

If you search HOTWIRE for the number of rooms/adults/children that you need, does anything appear within your desired star rating, zone, and budget?

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.... and your searches too! (please click each of these previous links before replying)

Thanks.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
