dano18 Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 I had an overnight at DFW and bid last minute for 4* DFW North hoping for one of the DFW Hyatts or perhaps the Westin. I don't like gimmicky, huge, theme-park, convention hotels so I was less than thrilled when I won the Gaylord. This hotel is not that closeor convenient to DFW, especially with all the construction on 114 and 121. I ended up renting a car which is rather time consumingat dfw but having previously eaten at the Gaylord (I didn't want to make that mistake again) I wanted more options.I know there are a lot of people that find this type of hotel appealing but I don't. The room was dated typical Marriott, the bed was TERRIBLEValet parking was expensive, the lobby was a loud zoo of people with lots of kids and long lines.I've bid the DFW North zone MANY times happily winning one of the Hyatts or one of the Westin. Only twice was I relegated to the Hiltonof which i'm not a fan. But now with the Gaylord in the zone I will, unfortunately, have to look for other options.
