ha_tamale Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Hi! Please help me ID the following 4* properties (10/31/13-11/06/13, 2 guests):Downtown-Soho-Financial District$240 (norm. $399)90% recommendedFitness center, restaurant, business center, hi-speed internetChelsea$283 (norm. $354)95% recommendedFree internet, boutique, smoke-free rooms, restaurant, accessible bathroom, hi-speed internet, in-room accessibilityI have looked on the Hotwire hotel list on BB and checked out the possible candidates on Trip Advisor. I am trying to avoid hotels in the Financial District (prefer Soho and Tribeca) as well as the Doubletree Chelsea. I have been comparing with Priceline, too, and wondering if I should just go that route so I can eliminate the risk of getting a hotel in the Financial District. Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Why wouldn't you bid on PRICELINE where this area is sub-divised into smaller zones and you can more accurately target the zone(s) you do want to stay in? What advantage do you see with the HOTWIRE offer(s) above? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ha_tamale Posted July 30, 2013 Author Report Posted July 30, 2013 Yeah, that's kind of what I thought. I have just always been happy with HOTWIRE wins, and I'm not as confident with PRICELINE. Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Each service has its pros and cons... you need to use the one that works best for you in the given situation. Is there anything offered on HOTWIRE that is within your desired star rating, zone, and budget that we can help identify? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ha_tamale Posted July 30, 2013 Author Report Posted July 30, 2013 Yes--I'm interested in the 4* Chelsea property referenced above. I don't think it's the Doubletree because one of its features is Boutique, but I'm nervous because another feature is Free Internet, which is a Doubletree feature.
thereuare Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Best guess for the Chelsea property would be an upgrade of the Flatiron Hotel since the last time it was reported to the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
