Priceline Hotel: 3.5*+ NYC AUG 5-7

First time user: I've bid $125 for 3.5* in Chelsea, Times Sq, Hell's Kitchen, CP West for AUG 5-7. Is that too hopeful? Any suggestions? Thanks.

NYC in the Summer is (at least traditionally) one of the slower periods of the year (although still pricey), but this year has seen prices stay noticeably higher than they usually are during the Summer. $125 is not going to be enough for these date/s - I think you're probably looking at closer to $175-200.

I will add that if you need to stay within budget you can likely get a hotel on the NJ side along the Jersey City-Hoboken waterfront which would provide easy access to NYC via PATH train. You do lose a bit of the 'buzz' and convenience of staying directly in the city, but given a nice 4* hotel could likely be had in this zone for your dates for $120-$140, it is a viable option if you need stay within budget.
