racingmama Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 Hi! I am a newbie in this forum. I have a 2 days to book a hotel in San Francisco, hopefully July 29-Aug 1, 2013. It's my first time to try priceline name your own price. Would want to save of course. I've read tips, and a few of the posts here. Would want an area where everything would be near places like the golden gate bridge, lombard, Fisherman's Wharf, to save time travelling around the city. Hoping to find a hotel that would be good for me, my husband, daughter (9 years old), and possibly a dog. Is this possible? Am I risking getting only a room only for 1 person. I've read on some posts here that usually winning bids get double occupancy.I need help. Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!I you haven't yet please start by reading your messages.PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. If this is not a risk you're willing to take, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)Also, you'll need to decide if you need to take your dog with you as this will determine which service(s) are possible (as they will let you choose a pet friendly property) vs. which services are not an option (as they don't offer any way to determine if pets are allowed or not)Lastly, what is your expected budget per nite (before fees and taxes) and your desired star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
