AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What zone/s would be acceptable? This is a busy time of year and unfortunately, $160 definitely may be difficult, especially in Midtown.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. thereuare
At current rates i think your budget is too low, but you can try as follows:When bidding 4* in NYC you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Chelsea, ESB, MSG, MTW...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* UWS, UES, TS, CPS...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* UWS, ESB, MSG, MTW...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Chelsea, UES, TS, CPS...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Chelsea, UES, MSG, MTW...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* UWS, ESB, TS, CPS...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Chelsea, ESB, TS, MTW...Bid $138, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $143, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* UWS, UES, MSG, CPS...Bid $138, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $143, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Chelsea, ESB, MSG, CPS...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* UWS, UES, TS, MTW...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Chelsea, ESB, MSG, MTW, UWS, UES, TS...Bid $153, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $158, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Chelsea, ESB, MSG, MTW, UWS, UES, CPS...Bid $153, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $158, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* Chelsea, ESB, MSG, MTW, UWS, UES, TS, CPS...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $163, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165Since i though your budget would likely fall i little short i went up an extra $5 but you are of course free to stop at whatever dollar amount you're comfortable with.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Canucks
Thanks for the info. I've increased my starting bid to $120 and followed your strategy. NO GO. I maxed out at $187.I'll try again next month. Do you think the rates will drop 2 weeks prior to my travel dates? Link to comment
AaronJB
This a traditionally a busier period. I'd try a couple of times a week - while rates may come down closer to your stay, there is definitely no guarantee (and they can certainly go the other way, as well.)Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. These amenities are common so there could be others, but the InterContinental would be my best guess for this one.How high have you bid on PRICELINE... are you now willing to pay $231/nite for a room for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress. Canucks
Right now my max bid is 220. What do you think? Link to comment
thereuare
It depends how much you want what appears to be the InterContinental vs. some other 4* property in the other zone(s) you're willing to accept. However, with the discount code link in my signature ending today that gives 5% OFF, that is the difference between the PRICELINE EXPRESS property at $231 and your maximum bid of $220.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Canucks
Can you help me ID 4* Midtown East area hotel on HOTWIRE. $248.48Amenities:Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Accessprobably the InterContinental. Link to comment
AaronJB
Please change the drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to United States and the currency dropdown to US Dollars. Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase stay on the US version of their site and simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase. If you go back to HOTWIRE and click this offer from the search results page, then on the ensuing page click the 'See all' link under the amenities, do you see more than what you've posted above?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
