atr2006 Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 Hi there. Looking at one night stay 8/10 downtown Chicago (North Mich. Ave). I considered booking the Hyatt Regency or Westin directly, but decided to look at Priceline first. Haven't done any bidding, and would prefer not to. Here are the Express Deals I'm seeing:4.5* North Michigan Ave - River North Area for $226/nightGuest Score: 9.0 out of 10 (or higher)Guest FavoriteGuaranteed Amenities: Free Internet Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness CenterThis property also has a bed choice, 1 king bed at $226 or 2 beds at $270.4* North Michigan Ave - River North Area for $200/nightGuest Score: 9.0 out of 10 (or higher)Guest Favorite Free Internet Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness CenterI'm using the PRICELINE link. And should probably check out Hotwire, too. ThanksEdit to add: Hotwire Result Secret Hotel4* Magnificent Mile Area--River North area hotel $202.00/night95% of Hotwire Customers recommendPet friendlySmoke free roomsFitness centerRestaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-speed internet access
atr2006 Posted July 25, 2013 Author Report Posted July 25, 2013 Also, is there a chance the Hotwire 4* and Priceline 4* are the same property? The price for both has gone down a couple dollars in the past two hours.
thereuare Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Best guess for the 4.5* PRICELINE EXPRESS property would be The James or the Sofitel... but i wouldn't rule out the Conrad or Ivy as secondary possibilities. I don't have as much insight for the 4* property, but my guess would be the Westin River North or the Palomar. For the 4* HOTWIRE hotel, my guess here would be the Westin River North. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes of if we can be of further help. atr2006 Posted July 26, 2013 Author Report Posted July 26, 2013 We changed our plans by adding one night, and decided to just go for a bid--why not! We've never stayed at this property and are thrilled with the location. We got this on my first try for a 4* after doing multiple bids/rebids at 5* and 4.5*. Thanks for the help yesterday!
