Hi. I'm staying with my son at the Westin Grand Central on Saturday July 27 on my company's tab; I'm hoping to snag a low-priced room for Friday night at the same hotel.

Hotwire is offering me a "Midtown East area hotel," 4 stars, "Pet friendly, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access," $249 at "other sites," "Recommended: In 90% of Hotwire customer reviews,'' for $130. How would you assess the chances that this is the Westin Grand Central?

Thank you!

Sorry to hear this wasn't the hotel you were hoping for, but glad to see you're still pleased with the results.

Was the room rate still $130/nite when you made your purchase and did you confirm that the amenities were the same, as currently there is a different 4* hotel offered in this zone (and the current amenities match previous reports of the InterContinental... are you sure the hotel didn't change?). You can still view the amenities shown before your purchase by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.

You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.

Enjoy your stay.
