1forcruisin10
I placed a bid on a 4* in downtown Nashville and didn't get it. I am open to raising my bid but can't do that without putting in a different star category. I haven't seen any 3.5* listed in downtown metro Nashville. Has anyone else? If not, I would still have a chance at a 4* I think. Thoughts? Link to comment

1forcruisin10
I'm looking at a hotel for 8/8-8/11. I know it was a low ball start at 80, but I was planning to jump $20/try--but since I hadn't done this for 2 years, I forgot you couldn't just change your price every time, but had to change star level too. So I was going to drop down to 3.5 but I didn't see any of those listed. Thanks for the input. I will try again including a 3.5*. This forum is so helpful for new users. I would never book with HOTWIRE or PRICELINE before checking here. Thanks Link to comment
AaronJB
I wouldn't jump higher by $20 at a time when bidding. What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment

1forcruisin10
Does anyone have any tips on the best chances on bidding on Hyatt Place in Opryland? I really would rather not pay the resort and parking fee at the Opryland Hotel (which is the only 4* in the area I believe.) The map shows only 2 3* properties (Hyatt Place and The Inn at Opryland.) However, most of what I've read shows that people are winning bids at Hyatt Place. Once of the descriptions I see shows pet friendly (however, neither of these properties list that as an amenity, so I'm afraid there might be a new hotel on their list that I have not researched. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. I am relatively new to this process. Link to comment
yellowdog
Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same stay. You can't bid or avoid a specific hotel when using PRICELINE You have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) you select. If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.Hyatt Place is pet friendly but The Inn at Opryland don't allow pets.Let us know how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.Yellowdog. 1forcruisin10
I booked a hotel with a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. The price was 74/night for a 2.5 star property which I thought sounded like the Hyaptt Place. I got the Country Inn and Suites. Even though I didn't get the hotel I really wanted, there are good reviews on this hotel and a good price (books for 93/night.) Thanks for the help. It's always fun to try anyway. Link to comment
