Best guess for the 3* would be the Watertown Hotel.. for the 2.5* my guess would be the University Inn.

I assume you are familiar with Seattle and need to be in this specific zone?

Never been in Seattle before, but the customer rating for both hotels are very high and the the University district looks like close to downtown. We are going to drive to Seattle and prefer a location close to downtown with free/cheap parking.

I agree with sarabee... unless you need to be in the University District try to stay in Downtown. You'll likely need to pay for parking one way or another... either at your hotel or when you drive to downtown, so for convenience sake, and saving previous vacation time, i'd focus on the downtown zone (especially if your children are young as it makes heading back to the hotel for an afternoon break, to freshen up, drop off shopping bags, a nap, etc. much easier)

As long as you don't need in/out privileges you can usually find cheaper parking rates at a private garage separate from your hotel.

Ultimately it's your trip so you have to weigh the additional cost of staying downtown vs. saving money and staying out of the city.
