Priceline Hotel: 4* Charleston (Ashley River) Marriott Charleston

Saw a deal for about $180 all-in on HOTWIRE for what I suspected was the Marriott Charleston. After first failing to get a 4.5* or better at $150 or less on PRICELINE, then trying to get a 4* or better downtown for $150 or less, I set my sights on the Ashley River area, where I think the Marriott is the only 4*.

Starting bid of $85 for a 4* in Ashley River area. Added zones and increased bid to $95, $100, $110, $120 and $130 before winning 2 rooms at $140. With the 5% Summer promotion, room cost was $133 plus $19.93 in taxes and $7.69 in fees. Total cost of $160.62 per room, or about a $20 savings over HOTWIRE.
