bc2027 Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 I've used Priceline many times before and have always had luck getting great deals. Typically I travel for business and do them last minute. However, on this occasion I'm traveling to NYC with my fiancee and of course the circumstances are slightly different. I know NYC pretty well, so I don't mind staying just about anywhere in Manhatten (except the financial district since it's annexed from everything). I've been bidding on 3*+ for 8/14-8/19, I've tried $100-$150 in $5 increments in most all the zones without any luck. I've heard if I wait a bit longer I can probably get something cheaper. Should I keep bidding up or should I wait a week or so out before trying it all again? Thanks!
AaronJB Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding.Rates have gone up over the last few years and you're seeing periods that were traditionally slower (in comparison) - such as late Summer - show higher prices unfortunately sticking around this year. Waiting around to get something cheaper may work, but if rates lately are any indication, waiting may result in prices sticking around the same levels or slowly heading higher between now and your stay. What would be your desired max budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
bc2027 Posted July 18, 2013 Author Report Posted July 18, 2013 Really not trying to spend more than $150/nt (not including tax/fees)
