jcutler123 Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 This is my first time bidding and would like some help please. I am looking to stay in the city near mid Manhattan if possible. I am not sure what to even start at since the median is very high. I am traveling alone so 1 bed is fine and a 3 or 3.5 I think would be ok as I am just using it to sleep really. 8/31 to 9/2 are my datesWhat should I start bidding at and how many areas should I select? Thanks

jcutler123 Posted July 15, 2013 Author Report Posted July 15, 2013 I just went ahead and tried it myself110 Midtown West - rejected 4*115 Midtown East - rejected added 3.5 *120 Times Square - rejected added 3*125 MGS - rejected130 Empire State Building - accepted Jolly Hotel Madison TowersDoes anyone know anything about this hotel? Private bathrooms?ThanksJustin
thereuare Posted July 15, 2013 Report Posted July 15, 2013 Congratulations on your success! I'm familiar with the surrounding area but not this particular hotel, although i can tell you that the hotel will have private bathrooms. My two recommendations in this area:Jackson Hole Wyoming: Third Ave at 35th St has one of the best burgers in the cityEl Rio Grande: at the base of the residential building on the west side of the street at 37th and Third Ave... eat elsewhere, but if you like margaritas it's worth a stop for an expensive, but very strong, frozen one along with some of their homemade chips and salsa.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. In the future i'd suggest waiting for a suggested bidding strategy, or confirming your intended strategy, before bidding as i believe this was likely an overbid... if this 3* hotel in the ESB was available for less than $130/nite, you never gave yourself a chance to win it for less. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
