flyjetguy Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 Express Deal that included free wifi, shuttle, parking and "breakfast." I have noticed a lot of NYOP deals on hotels charge you for these to recoup bucks after your "win." My room was clean and comfortable, excellent staff, multi-hotel shuttle service not only picks up promptly at the airport (five minutes away) but services all the nearby restaurants, wal-mart, and Signature FBO on the west side of the airport. The breakfast is typical Hampton, more of a continental, the hot stuff is pre-frozen/pretty unappetizing but plenty of cereal, milk, juice, bagels etc. Pool is pretty small but ok, workout room is adequate. Public bus, LYNX, stops right in front of hotel and just around corner depending on where you're going. Bus day pass is $4.50, available on bus. It takes about an hour to get all the way to International Drive.

flyjetguy Posted July 18, 2013 Author Report Posted July 18, 2013 Forum admin asked me to clarify: Priceline Express Deal advertised a "guest favorite" 8/10 2.5* hotel with free internet, parking and breakfast. I got the Hampton Inn room for $50 per night after all taxes and fees. In my original thread I may not have been clear that these items were advertised in the Express Deal. Those amenities were the reason I chose the express deal instead of a NYOP hotel. My experience in resort areas like Orlando has been that NYOP hotel "bargains" often end up costing much more per night by charging $10 per day for wifi, $15 parking and $15-20 for breakfast after your stay is already pre-paid. So by the time you are "all in" you are possibly much worse off tha PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. This seems to happen more frequently the higher the hotel star rating in resort/international tourist areas. Not always the case but be forewarned and don't cry if this happens to you. Off topic, Kennedy Space Center is $50 per person, ala carte guided tours are $25-50 additional and are sold out by noon. Parking is $10. $5/person off coupons are available at gas stations and tour shops everywhere. New (June 2013) Atlantis shuttle exhibit is worth the entire visit. Everything else is pretty dated unless you're a very young budding astronaut. The constant upsells of junk food, photos and long bus lines to see obsolete viewing platforms are unattractive.
