I'm working on a 4* in zones 3 or 5 (prefer Downtown South) for July 25th and 26th. I'm not sure what the rebid zones are and don't want to get stuck in another zone so for now I've just tried $85 and $90 without luck.

Please use the zone names, and not the numbers, as the numbers will change any time that PRICELINE adds, removes, or renames a zone. Zones 3 and 5 are Don Valley and DT South... are these the two zones that you have been bidding? Are you aware that Don Vally currently has no 4* hotels so if this is the second zone you're bidding you're really still only bidding for Downtown South. Is this intentional OR are you also trying for a hotel in the Don Valley zone?
...for July 25th and 26th.
Please confirm if this is a 2 nite stay or just 1 nite.

When bidding for a 4* hotel in Toronto you have ELEVEN re-bid zones, so it's definitely in your best interest to ask questions and learn about re-bidding as it will help with your bidding and also be an integral part of any strategy we suggest. After reading Priceline Re-Bidding Explained see if you can confirm your ELEVEN re-bid zones or if you're still confused ask questions and we'll break it down further for you.

I am going for a two night stay.

The zone number was a typo. I'm looking to stay in Downtown Toronto North or Downtown Toronto South. I'd prefer South.

I'm going to work through some more bids with Downtown South and add in the other zones one by one except Downtown North, North York East, and Toronto Airport East.

I got rejected up through $109 using all of my rebid zones for a 4* in Downtown South.

I don't really have any specific max number, but I'm already higher than I hoped I'd have to go so I may start over and go for a 3.5* depending on how the wife feels about it. Looks like there are 8 rebid zones for a 3.5*.

Did you also include Downtown North in your bidding or only Downtown South at this point?

I will add that although more than you may have originally thought this would take, i do think you're likely only $5-$10 away from a win for a 4* hotel in the Downtown South zone.

One King West is available for your dates at $121/nite if that is of any interest.

You can:

  • raise your bid another $5-$10 for a 4* in the DT South zone
  • bid at the same bid prices and include DT North
  • lower your star rating to 3.5* and bid only DT South again
  • wait it out and hope rates are lower in the weeks ahead

No interest i the One King West at $121/nite?

I went down a different path today and tried for a 3.5* in Toronto Downtown South. I started very low so I only got up to $81 when I got through with all of the rebid zones. I plan to try again at 3.5* tomorrow night.

After I ran out of 3.5* bids I decided to go ahead and try the 4* rebid zones since my 3.5* price was already within $10 of my 4* price. Ended up winning a 4* for $113
