Hotwire Hotel: 4* London (Mayfair - Soho) Thistle Marble Arch

We are heading to London August 6-9 and want to stay near Buckingham Palace (Westminster area I believe) and would like help with recommendation of amounts that will win a 3* booking for the 3 nights. Needs are an ensuite (shower in room) and a double bed at least. Thanks in advance

There are no re-bid zones available when bidding 3* in London, so there really isn't too much of a strategy that you can use unless there are other zones that you're willing to accept.

If this is the only zone you're willing to bid at this time, i would start with a $100 bid, and increase by $5 every 24 hours for the next two days.

Thank you for all your help!! I did end up going into the soho Mayfair Piccadilly area and bid on HOTWIRE for a 4star and ended up getting the "thistle marble arch" for $69.00 a night!! Thanks again!!!

An excellent deal, which i think may have been a pricing error as you can see rates on a current HOTWIRE search are significantly higher.

I got the thistle marble arch for 70$ a night too.

However, I emailed the hotel with the confirmation number hotwire gave me but they do not have any reservation details on their system.

I have just emailed hotwire about this, no replies yet.

Highly recommend you double check with the hotel in case this really is a pricing mistake by hotwire. Anyway I would expect them to book me into a similar or better 4* hotel in the same area at no extra charge if it were their fault. Reading through the forum, hotwire has made a few pricing mistakes recently too.

If you just made the booking it may not be in their systems for a little while. If it isn't in their systems later today or by tomorrow, then call HOTWIRE and see what the situation is.
