davilapernas Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Ok. So Im looking for a hotel in times square for thanksgiving weekend. My budget is $250 night maximum. I want a 4 star or 4/12 star hotel (I dont think i could get a 5 star with that budget). Ive been checking the Express deals on priceline and its giving me a $230 night offer on a 4.5* hotel in the times square Area.Amenities:RestaurantBusiness CenterFitness CenterGuest Rating: 9.0Should I book this hotel? I really dont want the michelangelo. Im guessing it could be either the intercontinental or the royalton. PLEASE HELP!!!!PS- I was actually looking for a hotel in the parade route but all i get online are the same 5 very expensive hotels which are all booked already. So thats why im just looking for a very nice hotel at an affordable price in times square theater district. However, if someone knows of a Great Hotel located in 6th avenue with parade views PLEASE Let me know!!!
KatiesMom Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 Hi, a few years ago I wanted to stay at a hotel on the parade route with a room overlooking the parade in case it was cold or rainy. VERY expensive, premium time and premium rates. Keep in mind that hundreds of thousands of people from around the world come to NYC for Thanksgiving not only to watch the parade but to be in the parade. Hotel prices are through the roof. The rooms with the parade views are THE MOST expensive and pure premium. That said, I booked a room at the Novotel. It's right on the route. Our room was low enough so if it was bad weather we could watch it from the room. The weather was fine so we went outside. It's a madhouse down there on the street. We were lucky to get right behind a jersey barrier facing the parade as it came down so no one was in front of us or our kids.
davilapernas Posted July 9, 2013 Author Report Posted July 9, 2013 Thanks but the Parade switched to 6th Avenue last year. I really dont care for the parade anymore. I just want some help on this 4.5* hotel that i want to book. I really really really want intercontinental and my wife HATED the Michelangelo pictures. Im afraid to spend $1000+ on a hotel shes going to hate
