MadamSun Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 We used a priceline pre-negotiated Express Deal with a coupon for additional off to get it at $137.00 - after taxes it took the room price to $170. There is resort fee attached to the hotel of $26.00. It covers free parking, Internet, and a lot of activities for the children. My kids are 7 and 10. While we were there, we made homemade ice cream, patriotic necklaces, entered a popsicle eating contest, made finger rockets, made Samores by a campfire, went to a Texas style barn dance, had snow cones, participated in a parade, watched movies on the lawn, participated in a scavenger hunt, received glow sticks and necklaces to wear at the fireworks show over the golf course. For $10 they could have tye dyed their own t-shirts. For $35 extra the kids learned to boogie board on the surf machine and the staff was so wonderful and patient with my youngest especially. The lazy river is 85% shaded which made the hot part of the day really cool! The water slide landed on a trough at the end of the slide instead of dumping into a pool. This allowed kids who aren't as strong swimmers to have fun with out landing in a deep pool. We saw a number of families with their pets including larger dogs such as labs. Overall it was a wonderful time. We spent very little time in the actual room and most of the time in the water park. The room had 2 double beds not queens so prepare yourself. Again you aren't spending much time in the room anyways. The Lobby Staff and Bell staff was wonderful. The only real downfall to our experience was related to the food and food service. We had a drink the first night we were there and watched the girls boogie board. We noticed the bill added on 18% gratuity automatically even when we were a party of 2. The next morning we had serve yourself and there was no interaction with wait staff - but the 18% gratuity was also included. Just be prepared. Also the staff takes your order then disappears for 15 minutes. On a plus - they give free water and the Pina Colada's Rock and Vince's watering Hole. They also had a live band that played Jimi Buffett for over 2 hours.Priceline

MadamSun Posted July 6, 2013 Author Report Posted July 6, 2013 There is currently only one 4* hotel in San Antonio West Sea World Lackland AFB and it is the Hyatt. Until they upgrade the Hilton, build a new resort in the area or downgrade the Hyatt we are lucky to be able to corner this market. The Express deal gave a rating of 8+, marked it as a guest favorite, indicated it had free parking, a business center, an indoor/outdoor pool, and a fitness center and was listed as a 4* Hotel in the san Antonio - West Sea World/Lackland AFB section of the city.
