Thank you, raphael(clicked both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links)
thereuare Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! To begin, please confirm that you're looking for 2 rooms, one of which you'd like to have two beds in the room (as opposed to one room for quad occupancy)... is that correct? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
wwwys Posted July 5, 2013 Author Report Posted July 5, 2013 Yes,one of which I'd like to have two beds in the room.raphael
thereuare Posted July 5, 2013 Report Posted July 5, 2013 PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. (or there could be an additional charge since in NYC rooms with two beds is considered an upgrade at many NYC hotels and PRICELINE / HOTWIRE reservations are for 'standard' rooms)HOTWIRE would give you a workaround as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy per room (which would ensure separate sleeping accommodations) but the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc. HOWEVER, currently your $200 would be a stretch (it's possible but i'd put your odds at just under 50/50) and when looking for more than double occupancy on HOTWIRE the rate often increases further, especially in NYC due to the standard/upgrade room types mentioned above.Let us know your thoughts/questions and how you'd like to proceed and we will take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. wwwys Posted July 5, 2013 Author Report Posted July 5, 2013 Thank you for your information, and as you said, I think I should go for HOTWIRE, to get better chance for 2 beds.raphael
thereuare Posted July 5, 2013 Report Posted July 5, 2013 If you search HOTWIRE for 2rooms/4adults/1child does anything appear within your desired budget and star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. wwwys Posted July 6, 2013 Author Report Posted July 6, 2013 NOPE...most of them is over $300, do you think I should keep trying this or I need a new strategy?Regards, raphael
thereuare Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 You need to make a decision of ensuring what you want (two separate sleeping accommodations in the room.... where one could be a pullout sofabed or rollaway) via HOTWIRE vs. staying within your budget and taking the risk that you'll receive a room with only one bed via PRICELINE.You can also search PRICELINE EXPRESS and see if any of the offers within your budget show a 'Bed Type' option... then clicking thru on that offer see if any of the available bed options are for two beds in the room.Let us know your thoughts and/or what you find thru PRICELINE EXPRESS (or if you want to stick with HOTWIRE) and we'll take it from there.
