audreymccar Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 I have been bidding for the last several days and have went as high as $140 a night. Any tips for a 4* or higher, 07/17- 07/20, willing to go as high as $140. I started at $90 and have went up in $5 increments. Any advice?
AaronJB Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay?Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.
audreymccar Posted June 27, 2013 Author Report Posted June 27, 2013 I would be willing to go as high as $150 but obviously would like to be as low as possible. Should I wait closer to the dates? Or is there a different strategy I should try?I have been bidding through the links on this website. Thanks!
thereuare Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 If you haven't yet please start by reading your messages. There are two large conferences taking place during your dates:American Veterinary (7/19-7/23) 10K attendeesChicago Market (7/20-7/25) 25K attendeesUsing MAPS and HOTELS.com (which makes it easy to filter to show just the 4* and higher hotels on the map... then click the button to sort by PRICE) what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable 4* hotel in this zone? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. audreymccar Posted June 28, 2013 Author Report Posted June 28, 2013 Using the MAPS and HOTELS.com link the cheapest hotel was $199 then up to $289 for the 2nd cheapest. I will be at a conference leading up to those days and the hotel rate is $179 for the Marriott. Do you think that will be the best rate I will be able to find given the conventions? I did bid last night up to $150 with no takers.
AaronJB Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 My guess is that you're $5-10 away from a win at the 4* level in the NMA-River North area.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
audreymccar Posted July 2, 2013 Author Report Posted July 2, 2013 Just wanted to follow up on this. I bid up to $190 and didn't get anything at the 4 star or above level. I ended up booking a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $212 a night, with an additional 5% at check out. The express deal ended up being the Omni, which I am happy with. Thanks for everyone's help.
thereuare Posted July 2, 2013 Report Posted July 2, 2013 Congratulations on your success! Thanks for the follow-up and for sharing your win with the board. Can you please add a reply to this thread confirming that this property is 4.5* rated by PRICELINE and also, if you recall, add the amenities that were showing before your purchases. Please use the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
