jcwhite Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 I am planning my first trip to San Francisco in July. I would like to stay in an area that is convenient to walk or take public transportation to see all that the city has to offer. The only definite plans are the night tour of Alcatraz and a Giants game. I'd like some recommendations for what area I should bid as well as some advice on what strategy I should use.

jcwhite Posted June 26, 2013 Author Report Posted June 26, 2013 I would like to have a three star rating or better, in the $120 range. This may be an unrealistic goal.
thereuare Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 I would start with Union Square East and Union Square West... from there if rejected, we can further look into the Fisherman Wharf and/or Financial zone(s) to see if either of these would work for your needs.Assuming these are acceptable i would bid as follows:Select 3* USE...Bid $100, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3* USW...Bid $100, if rejected add USE...Bid $105If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and re-try with $110/$115, if that is rejected wait 24 hours and re-try with $120/$125.Use PRICELINE coupon code SUMMER for an extra 5% OFF which still puts the $125 bid within your $120 budget. ;)Any question feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck! jcwhite Posted January 3, 2014 Author Report Posted January 3, 2014 We ended up staying in Union Square West - Nobb Hill at the Serrano (3.5 star) for $125 a night. We had a great time and the hotel was perfect for our needs. We walked the entire city, easy access to cable car, nice restaurants around. Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Was this thru PRICELINE, HOTWIRE, or a direct purchase? If the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, can you please add the full details of your purchase in a reply to this thread so that others can benefit from the information.
