The Orlando Centroplex Travelodge would be my best guess for this one.

Not sure of your needs for this trip but it think you could get a much better value in/around Disney due to the hote competition there. For instance there are 2*-3* hotels priced in the $30's there... and just an example for $49 a 3.5* in the SeaWorld zone, that is a VERY BIG jump in star rating for an extra $3/nite.

Hi Thereuare,

Thank you for the ID help, that is what I thought as well. I will look into your advice, for sure! We were thinking about either staying in the I-Drive north area (by Universal Studios) or downtown Orlando. We won tickets on the radio to the universal parks, which is why we are going and thus why we were looking for hotels in that area. We are young so we are also interested in checking out the nightlife in Orlando which is why downtown Orlando became an option. And since downtown Orlando has cheaper rates than I-Drive north area, we narrowed it down to there. Also, we figured if we went out and got too tipsy, we could stumble our way back to the hotel.

Don't get me wrong, a few extra dollars or even less money for a better hotel sounds great. If there is a decent night life in those areas I would be very interested in checking them out. But it is my understanding that after Pleasure Island closed there isn't much of a night life in the Disney area. I could be wrong though, if anybody has better knowledge than I do!

And yes I will absolutely use the HOTWIRE link for my searching AND booking :)

I don't know much about the Downtown Orlando area other than we don't see it bid very often, so hopefully somebody with more local knowledge of the area will be able to add their thoughts. If you don't get a reply by the end of the weekend, reply to this thread again and i'll ask yellowdog to have a look and comment as he knows this area well.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

We are going this weekend, if you can get him to help out sooner :)

We booked at HOTWIRE for Downtown Orlando, using the board's link, of course. $46 1*, it was indeed the Orlando Centroplex Travelodge!

Thank you very much for the help! Much appreciated. If yellow dog wants to give some tips on where to go out at night, that would be phenomenal.

Thanks again! :)
