vered4 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I'd like help identifying two hotels:Date: November 13 - 1 night4* NMA $126 ~~Best ValueRestaurant, Fitness Center, Business CenterWhat hotel might this be??And:3.5* Loop $93 ~~Customer FavoriteBusiness, Restaurant, FitnessWhat hotel? Thanks so much for the help!
thereuare Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Is there also a Boutique icon on the 3.5* property in the Loop? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 After looking myself at that night on Hotwire, the 4 NMA appears to be the Millenium Knickerbocker and the 3.5 (which does show boutique) appears to be the Allegro.
vered4 Posted September 24, 2005 Author Report Posted September 24, 2005 I misread my own notes. I had written B...which obviously was Boutique....and I was thinking it was Business Center. So..the Allegro....anyone know anything about this hotel? I have stayed at the Knickerbocker three times....great hotel in a great location - if it's a good price. The rooms vary greatly....but they upgraded me very willingly when I thought a room was too small.I wish I could find something for that night for LESS!
AaronJB Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 You may want to try to bid $90-100 for a 4 star in the NMA/River North area on Priceline, and hope that the Knickerbocker comes up if it's a hotel you like. If not, the other "reported" 4 stars in that area would also be quite nice. The Allegro is an older, funky (as in looking/design, not as in gross) hotel that does have some smaller rooms, but seems otherwise quite nice (evening wine reception, for example). It's on the West side of the loop, so if you're going to Chicago to see plays/theatre (or State St. shopping), it's convenient, but it's a ways from Michigan Ave/Mag Mile. There's not a whole lot right around it, and it is rather quiet (being in a largely business district that clears out at night) at night.
vered4 Posted February 8, 2006 Author Report Posted February 8, 2006 Thanks for all of the help! I didn't end up staying at a Hotwire hotel that one night....stayed with a friend instead! But...I wasn't sure if the invitation would come through or not...so it was nice to be prepared! :)
