First of all I would like to thank you for such a great website and tools that enable folks like me to obtain invaluable travel information. This site is OFF DA' HOOK! Especially the Hotel Maps feature.

We are planning on visiting Vegas from 10/19 through 10/24 and have tried the following on priceline for a 5* hotel:

  • Started Bidding From $90 through $170 per night for a 5*
  • Attempted Split Bidding by bidding up to $120 for 10/19 - /10/22

Our maximum budget is $200 per night. Please help!!

PS: I have previously used Priceline last year to book Aladdin for $90 per night and would be interested in something for similar pricing for a mid strip 4* hotel.

Thank you very much for your guidance and help.

Welcome to BetterBidding and thanks for the compliments on the site! :)

Rates at the Venetian for 10/19 are over $800/nite... so there is likely no inventory given to the opaque suppliers for that nite (other nites are expensive as well).

I don't think you're going to find anything near a 4* on the strip for $90 like you did last year... obviously these dates have higher occupancy than your previous trip.

Have you found anything better than the Monte Carlo for an average of $170/nite?

Hotwire has what appears to be the MGM Grand for ~$150/nite.

If the above are out of your price range you may have to lower your star rating.

Hi,

WOW, $800 per night at the Venetian. $150 per nite is definitely within our budget, but it just seems outrageous for MGM Grand. I guess you are correct about the high occupancy levels during our dates in Vegas. I have seen some of the other threads where you recommended Monte Carlo for $129 per night through EasyClickTravel for similar dates.

Would you recommend attempting split bidding in the following format:

1) 10/20 and 10/21 for 5*

2) 10/19 and 10/22 for 4*

3) 10/23 and 10/24 for 5*

Thanks again for your help and advice.

How many times are you willing to change hotels?

I have seen some of the other threads where you recommended Monte Carlo for $129 per night through EasyClickTravel for similar dates.
The dates can't be too similar as the weekend rates for your stay are over $200/nite at the Monte Carlo (if i recall correctly from last nite)
