TLau3789 Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 So I believe i have a general idea on how the system works, and plan to use the links provided here once i do decide to start bidding. My question has more to do with when to start actually bidding. My wife and I are planning on backpacking for a month through Europe, but not until May of next year. The Hotwire and Priceline bidding systems seem like they are geared towards last second travel. So when should we start trying to put in bids? As soon as possible? 6 months out? Would we have the best luck significantly closer to the date of our trip? Thanks in advance for any help.
thereuare Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! The 'bottomline' advice is to begin bidding once your plans are firm, while at the same time making sure that you don't overbid. For a more indepth discussion of this subject see the related 'Bid Early or Close to Arrival' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.If/when you're ready to move forward let us know and we'll try to assist further. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
