Hello,

Looking for a room, 3.5-4*, from Sept 26-29. Max budget is $150 per night.

My preferred zones are:

Midtown West

Midtown East

Central Park South

Times Square - Theatre District

Hell's Kitchen

Is it a reasonable price for what I'm looking for? And what would be the best strategy?

Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

We can suggest a strategy for whatever you'd like, but this is typically a busy time of year in NYC and at current rates i think you are more likely looking at $180-$200 for a 3.5* property and $250+ for a 4* property.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Two more caveats before bidding...

When bidding 3.5* and under it's important to note the following:

CPS - has the Hudson Hotel which while well located has notoriously small rooms (even by NYC standards), would this be acceptable?

MTE - some of the known hotels can be a bit east and up to a 15 minute walk to the subway, would this be acceptable?

Also, you know your plans better than we do, but you may also want to consider the MSG, Chelsea, and/or ESB zones as these are also frequently bid zones that typically work well for the average user.

Please confirm your zones and we'll advise accordingly.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

PS- and if you haven't yet, please read your messages. Thanks.

Hi!

I recently won an hotel on Priceline for Sept. 27th to Sept. 30th. I never traveled to NYC during those dates and I realized that the prices are a little higher.

After bidding for a few days, I won the Renaissance 57 hotel (4*) in Central Park South for about $215 a night which really came up to $800 with taxes and fees for all three nights. I didn't want to go lower in star ratings because I didn't want to get the Hudson hotel since it has smaller rooms. I also really want a 4* since I'm visiting NYC for my bday :)

Good luck with your bidding! :)

I'm going to NY Sept 21-25, I bid 199 for a 3.5 star in Times sqaure, MDE, MDW, MSG, ESB but no luck. Please help! I'm not interested in HK since Ink48 is apparently too out of the way.
