Priceline Hotel: Best Time to book for San Francisco Trip

Hi,

I have a trip coming up August 8th to 12th in San Francisco and want to stay in SOMA- Moscone area of the city. What is the best time to start bidding for hotels in the area using Priceline? Any help on this would be great.

Thanks for the response and information. I would like to stay in the 180 to 200 range if possible. The max I would like spend 250, but it would have to be a really good deal of a hotel.
