Hotwire Hotel: 4* DC (Capitol Hill - National Mall) The George Hotel

Hi,

Just used the link above to book this property for June 9th, checking out June 10th. Got it for $106 per night, $126.80 with tax. Was able to identify it thanks to BB. Very happy I did so as the other place I was considering was likely the Hilton downtown and it has some spotty reviews (not awful, just not really 4*). I love most all of the Kimpton hotels I've stayed at in the past so this is a score. Oh and the free internet basically makes up for the cheaper price of the Hilton.

One note to Hotwire users, I was on the website for a few minutes while I looked up the hotel on BB and on review sites to see if it was what I wanted. In that time Hotwire raised the price $3. I was happy with the hotel so I booked it, however in looking back to get some details for this post it was again available for the $3 cheaper offer. Hotwire won't refund you the difference. It's not a big deal as it's only $3, but it is annoying and makes me suspicious that they have some algorithm that suggests raising the price nominally if you stay on a deal for awhile to see if they can get more money out of you. If that happens to you I suggest opening a new browser and doing the search again (through BB of course) to see if you can get the original offer.
