andertim1 Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 If I want a 5 star strip north, am I pretty much guarenteed to get the Palazzo, Venetian, or the Wynn? Can I bid with confidence that nothing else will come up?

andertim1 Posted June 6, 2013 Author Report Posted June 6, 2013 Ok.. I have clicked on both of those links.. I'm really just wanting to make sure there are no other 5 star that could pop up. I've read a lot here and i don't think there will be, but I needed some advice. I also know that one could be added, but we really don't want to risk it. We may try 4 star north strip as well and I think the only 2 are TI and Mirage. Right now priceline has TI for 92 per night, but I could probably bid and get it cheaper, but who knows if another 4 star will pop up. I thinkt the 5 star is a safer bet.
AaronJB Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Those three are the only ones that have been reported to the board. New hotels or start rating changes can happen at any time.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 I also know that one could be added, but we really don't want to risk it. We may try 4 star north strip as well...You would run the same risk of a hotel being added at the 4* level as you would with a hotel being added at the 5* level. While i would be surprised by a new 5* hotel appearing (simply because we likely would have at least heard about a new 5* project being built in Vegas) it is always a possibility. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. andertim1 Posted June 7, 2013 Author Report Posted June 7, 2013 Thank you for the input. My wife doesn't like the risk of blind bidding, but i don't like to pay extra either. We may just book TI directly and use the savings for a nice dinner.
Romelle Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Las Vegas is so heavily bid and reported, the odds are really good that at the 4* level you'd get one of the two reported ones - TI or Mirage. Where I've gotten an as-yet-unreported is in places like Edinburgh, Budapest, and a small town in New Mexico. But some people really don't like the uncertainty. My very own brother won't do bidding. thereuare Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Another option is to use HOTWIRE and choose a hotel that has a higher user recommendation and a high TA rating (if shown). When you get right down to it though... can you really go wrong with any of the 5* hotels in Vegas? You might not like the Trump due to the location, but that can easily and safely be avoided with both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE by choosing the right zone or a hotel that lists Casino as an amenity. However, ultimately you need to be comfortable with whatever service you use to book. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
