Hello,

I am bidding a hotel room in San Ramon for 6/23 thru 7/2.

I tried bidding using the link in this forum, with 6 free bid zones (LIvermore, Union CIty, OAK, Hayward, Antioch, Martinez) up to $105 but to no avail.

My goal is to get San Ramon Marriott. Current rate at their website is $206 per night which is like a hotel in downtown SF, which puzzles me.

Can anyone help me please ? Thank you !

Yes, please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.

Best guess for the property above would be the La Quinta Inn and Suites Dublin/Pleasanton.

Thank you for your reply.

Tried to re-bid again today through PRICELINE from $95 going up to $130 but still to no avail. What is the likely bidding price on 3.5* in San Ramon for my timing ? Thank you again !

I would have thought you likely would have been successful at this point...

PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 3.5* in this zone for $136/nite with:

Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Parking, Fitness Center

Alternately, HERE the Sheraton is onsale for $152/nite.

I was concentrating on San Ramon and did not include Pleasanton because :

1. I am hoping to score a deal on Marriott San Ramon

2. Pleasanton has a few very old hotel that I am not really keen such as Sheraton. I used to live in the area so I know this one is old.

I was keen on Hyatt House at Pleasanton but it was not included in Hotwire Hotel List.

I saw no posting wither on anyone winning in Sam Ramon area. Well, just trying my luck if I can score something good like what I got with Intercontinental in SF. :))

It would be great if anyone can direct me what to do. Thank you!

You could book the Hyatt House Pleasanton for $161/nite, which isn't that much more than you have already bid.

If you want to continue bidding 3.5* in the San Ramon zone what is your maximum bid for this trip?

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

I actually tried splitting the trip too. Yes, booking Hyatt House in a few days if nothing works out. I don't understand why San Ramon Marriott is more expensive than Intercontinental in SF (regular rates). Thanks anyway.. I will see if hotwire has other options.

Properties establish rates independently based on a number of factors and do not always take into consideration other hotels in the area (a 3* being more expensive than a 4* isn't unusual, for example.)

Thank you for keeping us updated with what you decide.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Thank you for all your help. Too bad I can't seem to find the one I am looking for in Hotwire unlike last year. Decided to book with Hyatt Place Dublin/Pleasanton directly at $125/night. Hope I can find something in LA for the other portion of my CA trip.
