Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* San Francisco (Union Square East) Hotel Union Square

Hi there,

I'm trying to bid on a 4* hotel in USE for August 17-20.

I started bidding at $122 and used all the free rebid zones and have still been rejected up to $162.

It looks like there are one or two conferences in SF that weekend - would this be why I'm being rejected at my prices?

Should I wait until closer to my dates or continue bidding now. Any advice on what bids we should be trying? We were hoping to get $180 a night taxes in. Think it's a possibility?

The FAQ discusses purchase timing in detail. Given the rates that I'm seeing, I think you're probably looking at more towards the $200-225 range, although you could certainly try below $200, bidding up by $5's from your last failed bid.

A bid price of $180 will likely be successful... but at current rates $180 all-in doesn't look like it will be enough at this time.

Now that I'm looking on Hotwire, I just saw one come up...

Union Square East 3.5* (I decided to try 3.5 as well!)

I figured it may be Hotel Union Square and was right!

Booked 3 nights for $593 total.

I believe there may have been more amenities than you listed in your post, which would not have been seen unless you clicked the 'See all' link during the check-out process.
