Priceline Hotel: NYC - Bidding Strategy Help!!

Hey guys, I need some help on a bidding strategy for a hotel in NYC-Manhattan from 16 July to 19 July (3 nights), just for me (1 person!)

I never used PriceLine or other similar website, so I don't trust myself yet! =]

I would like a hotel 4* in Manhattan, preferably around Central Park or Madison Square Garden, but I may consider other areas.

My plan is to spend up to $170/night before taxes. How should I approach this? Is it a reasonable price for what I'm looking for?

Boutique Hotel

High Speed INternet

I was wondering if it could be the Empire Hotel, but the hotel is actually in the Central Park West, not East! So I have no clue at all which hotel this one could be.. any ideas?
