yellowdog Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 Welcome "officially" to BetterBidding.I've been reading over these forums for a couple years when trying to book good deals mostly when going to Vegas. It would be appreciated if you start to post your bookings so all members can gain from the information on the board like you do ;) Best guess would be Mirage or Treasure Island. Please remember to use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help with this stay.Yellowdog.PS. please remember to follow-up this thread with whatever you end up doing for this trip, even if you don't use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc.
Jsnazz Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 Alright, I'm trying to do some research to get the best deal possible for my gf and I's stay in Vegas from 6/28-7/1. Im looking at the Express Deals and looks like a 4* Strip North is going for $80/nt. SO I refer to the list of hotels in this forum and see which hotel it would be, and came to the conclusion that its either Treasure Island or Mirage. Either one is fine but I would like to see if I can get a better deal using NYOP. Based on experience can anybody shine some light on what my first bid should be? Also, if its not accepted what I should change so I do not have to wait 24 hours? I'm strictly looking to book for a 4* on the strip for less than $80/nt if I'm not able to then obviously I will settle for the Express Deal that I am referring to. Any feedback would be great! I plan on booking the hotel tomorrow so hopefully I get some feedback by then. Thank you in advance! And of course I wont forget to click the forums' links first!
Jsnazz Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 Will do! still debating if Hotwire or PL will be my best choice but i will definitely keep this updated.
Jsnazz Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 Also how comparable is PL to Hotwire. I see they have a secret hotel 5* strip north, which I'm assuming is the Trump hotel for $67/nt. Would I be able to match that or bid something lower to the $67/nt from hotwire using NYOP?
AaronJB Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 Please keep all posts in this thread. Can you confirm that your check-in date is 6/28 or 6/27?If the Trump is showing for $67 from HOTWIRE, you could possibly get it for less from PRICELINE if NYOP has inventory - although the only 5* known in the Strip North Vicinity zone is the Trump.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Jsnazz Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 yes, sorry the checkin date will be 6/27. Any tips on getting a price lower than HOTWIRE? What's a good starting point?
thereuare Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have FIFTEEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Assuming you would be happy with the Trump i would bid as follows:Select 5* Strip North Vicinity (and any other 5* zones you may be interested in)...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $56, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $57, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $59, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $61, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $62, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $64, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $66Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
