Current price is $183
yellowdog Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 Welcome to betterBidding :) I think there may be more amenities associated with this property. If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the SHOW ME button next to this offer (the one with the price in it), then on the next page click the 'See all' link under the amenities, do you see more than what you've posted above? Please use the board's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases and searchesYellowdog.
DarkKnight1680 Posted May 25, 2013 Author Report Posted May 25, 2013 Clicking the "See all amenities" link gives:4-star Hotel in Westminster - Victoria - Big BenThis Hotel features the following amenities:Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Price is already up to 193. Any ideas?
yellowdog Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 I'm sorry to say that a 4* property with this amenitie combo has not yet been reported/ID'd to the board. I'm not sure but a guess would be Park Plaza Victoria. Please use the board's HOTWIRE link, and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help with your stay.Yellowdog.Please use the board's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases and searches
DarkKnight1680 Posted May 29, 2013 Author Report Posted May 29, 2013 Hi Yellowdog,I'm finding a better rate through Expedia Unpublished now. Amenities look very similar. Any chance you can hazard a guess/guesses for this one? Same time frame and stars and area.Amenities listed by Expedia Unpublished are:Free InternetSmoke Free RoomsFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingMy understanding is that Expedia owns hotwire, and their areas etc seem identical. Is it possible their databases are also identical?Lastly, is there a BetterBidding Expedia link to use? Thanks Again!
AaronJB Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Expedia discounted listings are powered by HOTWIRE, and this would appear to be the same listing as showing on HOTWIRE.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Expedia links to start your purchases and searches.
DarkKnight1680 Posted May 29, 2013 Author Report Posted May 29, 2013 Unfortunately while I was waiting, the price has jumped significantly. Oddly the hotel is still the same, and the per-night room price is still similar (about 10$ more), but the taxes and fees moved from 43 a night to over 90 per night?Any idea why the taxes/fees would jump so much for seemingly the same hotel (going by the amenities) even though the room price doesn't really change?
thereuare Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Did you by chance change the occupancy per room as sometimes HOTWIRE will include an additional guest fee in the 'fees and taxes' section of their site.Have you tried searching a sub-set of your dates to see if the fees/taxes also jump when searching for only part of your stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (or our Expedia link if you decide to go that route) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
