No luck on Priceline. I cchecked Hotwire. Found a 3 star for $119, Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower area, 80% recommended by Hotwire Customers, Trip Advisor 3/5. Amenities include

Free Internet

Boutique Hotel

Smoke Free Rooms

Restaurant(s)

High-Speed Internet Access

Any idea what this might be?

I think if you bid for a 4* in the River North-NMA area, it will probably take between $115-130.

There's also a 4* on PRICELINE Express for $120.

The HOTWIRE listing is likely the Tremont;the 4* bidding or Express deal would seem more appealing.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

My apologies - the $120 listing is for the 21st-24th only and is in the NMA area. Still, I think you're likely looking at between $115-130 for a 4* in the River North-NMA area for these date/s via PRICELINE bidding. There's also a 4* in the Mag Mile-River North area on HOTWIRE for $138.

The Tremont (the potential 3* on HOTWIRE) is well-located but basic and gets very mixed reviews. While both unfortunately go over your initial budget, if you were able to get a 4* for $10-15 more than the $119 3*, it may be an upgrade to consider.

Let us know your thoughts and if you have any questions before bidding.

HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel offered in the Mag Mile-River North zone for $138/nite. While this is $10 more than you have already bid, this property has a 4.5/5.0 TA rating and is 100% recommended by previous HOTWIRE guests, so i mention this since if your budget is flexible you can ensure a very highly rated property for just a little more than you have already bid.

The property i'm seeing has:

Free Internet

Pet Friendly

Boutique

Smoke Free

Fitness

Restaurant

Business

Hi-Speed Internet

Blind Accessible

Deaf Accessible

Travel Accessible

Room Accessible

Bathroom Accessible

Handicapped Parking

Roll-in Shower

... best guess for this property would be the Hotel 71. Would this work for your needs this trip? (although note that this property is currently 3.5* rated on PRICELINE)

Are you seeing any HOTWIRE listings of interest? Unfortunately, it appears rates have gone up in the last month or so - the cheapest 4* downtown on HOTWIRE is $207. What are you looking for in particular in terms of hotel?

Are you familiar with Chicago and/or sure that the McCormick Place-Medical District zone works for your needs... unless you're attending an event at the convention center this is not typically considered a convenient location for the average visitor.

Please confirm if we should include this zone or not and we will advise accordingly. Also, how high have you already bid, how long ago was that, and which star rating and zones did you include in that bidding?
