I'm looking for a hotel in late May/early June in the Lincoln Park or downtown Chicago areas. What will parking and fees be like? Thanks for any help.

Please provide the date/s of travel as well as your desired budget, star rating and area and we would be happy to offer our thoughts/suggestions.

Unfortunately, there's really no good solution in terms of downtown Chicago and parking. City lots are around $25 + high tax and hotels can range from $45-65 per night (although generally around the middle of that range.). Sometimes I recommend the suburbs for free parking and cheaper rates for comparable hotels, but then it's a matter of a 35-45 minute train ride each way (although on the very nice Metra trains.)

Thank you Aaron and I also just found your list of Chicago Hotel Parking Fees. Very helpful!

I should have mentioned we will need handicapped parking for my son. I've found that some hotels discount fees or provide free handicapped parking. Any idea about downtown hotels or Lincoln Park area? Preferred hotel star rating is 3-4 star.

Thanks. :)

What are the dates of your stay? What is your expected budget? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3* or is the least expensive 3* or better the goal for this stay?

Do you have plans in Lincoln Park that you're considering this area OR what would be the reason to look here vs. staying directly downtown?

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (and for all your searches)

Thanks.

Lincoln Park hotels are unfortunately fairly similar in terms of parking (the Lincoln is $44, for example.) Lincoln Park is a lovely area, but it's not particularly convenient to downtown, especially the North end of the area. I'd recommend a trek up to Lincoln Park, but I wouldn't recommend staying there, especially if much of your time is going to be spent downtown.

Please let us know a bit more about your trip (dates, budget) and I would be happy to offer suggestions

Thanks, that info helps. We will be spending some time downtown but also other areas. A friend who lives near Lincoln Park suggested that area.

I have bid many times in other cities, so I'm not in need of further help. I will post what I get in another thread. Thanks!!
