zzirvingj Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Noob here....Any suggestions on the min I should start bidding at for 4*'s in San Fran for 5/24-5/30?And the increments I should go up by...?
Romelle Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 You've only got a couple days. Maybe 3 bidding sessions if you really push it and bid even the day of your arrival. But there are either 5 or 6 free-rebid zones at the 4* level. Hotels and Maps (in Tools above) is showing about $200 for 4*s for your dates (retail Priceline and Hotels.com).You might take a look at the best you could do on Priceline Express and Hotwire. There is a HW 4* out at the airport for $130, but the best otherwise is a $169 USE. I'm a member, not anybody official. But if I had your situation, I seriously doubt there would be a win below about $140 in SF proper. So I'd probably start there and work up by $10s if I wanted to be done today. Otherwise, I might work up by 5s or 3s, planning on bidding also 1 or 2 more days.Or you could post back with the zones in which you are interested, and wait for a more interesting bidding pattern from a moderator. If you do so, I'd also suggest you list your assumptions as to the free rebid zones so they can be double checked. Let them know your max budget too, so they don't suggest anything outside that.Romelle
