mPasCa Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 Hi all–I wanted to share a loss with you all, and ask a question.First, the loss. I bid for Paris, 4* in Champs Elysees, Eiffel tower, Latin Quarter, St. Germain, Opera E & W, up to $150 with no bite. I also tried my second choices of Republique and Bastille up to $130, again no takers. So, now for the question: What range should I expect to pay to get a 4* on 6/17 in Paris in one of the locations above? Do you think I can get away with less than $200?Take your time to respond—I have 72 hrs.
agedude Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 On the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals, there is a hotel in the Opera East - Louvre for $216. It's 4* rated 7 out of 10. An educated guess is you could get it for a bid of $185.
yellowdog Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 mPasCaIt's always difficult to predict rates. But since you have limited time to bid would I not waste time for Champs Elysees, Eiffel tower, Latin Quarter or St. Germain since 4* rates are high for your date. Unless you're willing to bid for a lower rated hotel.Opera E looks like your best bet for now like agedude says if you want to bid 4*.If keeping your $150 budget would I lower the bidding to 3* and go for Opera E and W, Eiffel tower, Montmatre or Latin Quarter.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. Please use the board's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases and searchesYellowdog.

Romelle Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 At the 4* level there are four free rebid zones. If you aren't familiar with that concept, it is discussed in the PRICELINE FAQ.Romelle
mPasCa Posted May 23, 2013 Author Report Posted May 23, 2013 Well, I tried 4* up to $140 without a bit yesterday. I think I'll wait a day or so to see how prices change before making up my mind on how to proceed. *fingers crossed*
