Alana86 Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 I am looking to bid on a hotel in the London Mayfair-Soho area for May 31 to June 6. Ideally I am looking for a 5* hotel, but could be convinced to try a 4* as well. I have never used Priceline before and was hoping for some tips and starting bid suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help!
yellowdog Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding :) The rates are on the "higher" side but not that bad for your dates. What would your budget/night be before tax/fee's 5* vs 4* hotel? Is the Mayfair-Soho zone the only zone you're willing to stay in?Let us know and we'll go from there. Please use the board's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases and searchesYellowdog.
Alana86 Posted May 20, 2013 Author Report Posted May 20, 2013 That is the only area that we are interested in. Hotwire has a 4* for $180/night so if we could get a 5* for around that is would be great.
yellowdog Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 I might be wrong but my guess would be that you're looking at $200+ for a 5*You have 4 free zones to use when bidding 5*. thereuare Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 I agree that it will likely take $200+ to be successful for a 5* hotel in the Mayfair-Soho zone (and perhaps substantially more), but if you want to give it a try using your FOUR re-bid zones, you could bid as follows:Select 5* Mayfair Soho...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180Feel free to ask any questions (especially confirming your re-bid zones if you're new to the concept). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
