I had tried bidding 5* in the Berlin East zone up to approximately $115 without success (I was hoping to get the Hilton so I could use status benefits which are usually included in Priceline bids).

This was my first bid at a 4* and I got the Maritim Proarte Hotel straight away. It looks to be in a great location, slightly mixed reviews but on the whole I am very pleased for the price. I never like getting success on a first bid as it makes me wonder if I could have started lower still (although I expect the overbidding here was minimal).
