thereuare Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 When trying to determine Priceline's cost for a hotel in New Orleans by looking at the taxes priceline paid (CLICK HERE for a discussion on how to do this) keep in mind that the hotel tax in New Orleans is on a sliding scale. The more rooms the hotel has, the higher the hotel tax rate that is passed onto guests will be (i've seen rates between 11%-13%). There is also a "room occupancy tax" (i've heard reports of $1-$3/nite) but i don't know if this too is based upon the size of the hotel. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
