Priceline Hotel: 4* French Quarter HELP July 5-9

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this board, but not that new to PRICELINE and HOTWIRE. I am so glad I found this site as it seems as it is going ot be very helpful. I was searching to see if anyone has had any luck finding deals the 4th of July holiday. Hotwire has $218 for 4* French Quarter for July 5-9. I understand this is a busy time and during the Essence Festival. How much of a deal do you usually find trying PRICELINE? I am trying to get the best deal possible. I have also looked at booking 2 reservations, July 5-8 and July 8-9. July 8-9 has a Riverfront Area property for $74 on PRICELINE. Any assistance would help. Thanks so much in advance

Just like rates, the level of discount, is date specific... if a large event is taking place and hotels feel that they can sell all/most rooms on their own at full price, there is little reason to offer deeply discounted rates to the opaque suppliers.

If you're willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID you may want to consider July 7-9 HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Riverfront Park zone for $103/nite with a 95% recommendation and 4.0/5.0 TA rating:

Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower

My guess for this one would be the Hilton Riverside so perhaps you could also try bidding for two nites for this one, thus leaving only two very expenisive nites instead of three.
