Hi everyone, I am really new to the site and I have been searching some information but I couldn't find what I am exactly looking for.

I am looking for a 2 rooms 4 guests trip. Our total budget in general is around 450-500 USD including taxes and all charges. We are going to Vegas on 9th June leaving on 12th June so we are looking for 3 nights and we will need parking as well.

I am looking to priceline but I couldn't whether should I go for a bid or choose from the existing offers. As you can understand from our budget we are not looking for too much fancy stuff but we are looking for best option possible. To be honest I would love to stay in New York, New York or Paris Las Vegas or similar hotels.

So what should I do? With this budget do i have chance to get a hotel like what I want? Waiting your comments, thanks.

I forgot to write, we would like to stay in the strip or closest possible.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please start by reading your messages and clicking each of these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links... then reply to this thread and we'll have a look at your post above.

To confirm, you're looking for 2rooms/4guests total... so only double occupancy per room?

What star rating are you looking for?

To breakdown the numbers a bit to show you about how much you're looking for in terms of room rate:

$500 total / 2 rooms = $250 total per room (rest of calculations are per room)

Assume $25/nite resort fee x 3 nites = $75... budget left for room equals $175

$175 total room rate only / 3 nites = $58/nite

Las Vegas tax ~11% = $52/nite room

PRICELINE / HOTWIRE booking fee (~$6 per nite per room) = $46 room rate before fees, taxes, etc will give you an equivalent of about $250 all-in per room

What star rating are you looking for with your ~$46/nite budget?

Interestingly enough, Hotwire has a 4* south strip for your dates at $40. The amenity list did include free parking.

Those other costs thereuare mentioned will still kick in, and I doubt it is one of the hotels you listed, but might do the job within budget.

Worth a peek, IMHO.

Theraure, I am looking for 4 if possible. And I would like to try my luck, that is why I need your help and experience...

Romelle, thanks for the info I will have a look. The key thing is it has 3 1/2 stars and we have 2 options for that price in here. One of them is Bally's and the other one is Flamingo. I can not see any 4 star in Hotwire so do you think that might be one of these? Pet friendly is a hint but I couldn't find any pet friendly hotel in the south strip. Waiting your comments.

I have to admit, when I checked Hotwire I used the default 1 room, 2 adults. When I went back now and tried your 2 rooms, 4 adults the Hotwire $40 south strip wouldn't show (it did still show for the default 1/2).

It may yet show up for your 2/4. Las Vegas offers can change very quickly.

There were lots of other surprisingly reasonable deals using your 2/4.

If a Hotwire offer looks like it could work, you can post back the details (rate, date, # rooms and people, and the full list of amenities. One of the experts here can give you a "best guess" as to what it might be.

When bidding 4* in Las Vegas you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Assuming that both the Strip North and Strip South zones are acceptable, i would bid as follows:

Select 4* Strip South...

Bid $33, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $38, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $40, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 4* Strip North...

Bid $33, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $38, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $40, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 4* Strip South and Strip North...

Bid $42, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $43, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $44, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $46

Any questions feel free to ask. If rejected i do have some other options/suggestions.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Dear all,

thanks for your help. I just booked Polo Towers for dates mentioned above for total of 330 USD including taxes, fees and everything.

If I try to bid and if I win a hotel that I don't like do I have chance to refuse?

Good plan to book a back-up cancelable reservation. Polo appears to be a 3* on both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE. Your deal is good enough it might be tough beating via bidding, but always worth a shot.

With PRICELINE bidding and HOTWIRE opaque offers, there is no backing out if you don't like what you get. Nada, zilch.

The very few exceptions are for mis-mapped hotels, or documentable differences in features offered, or some similar rare issue.

Have you found the hotel lists yet? The ones at the beginning of the Priceline Nevada and Hotwire Nevada areas. They are all the hotels members have reported receiving. But there also is a chance of receiving a hotel as yet not reported. I've had it happen to me several times. You have to be willing to accept any hotel within the zone map, at the star level you are bidding or higher.

I take a look at all hotels listed there but when I check hotwires "possible" hotels I am seeing totally different places. I still couldn't decide to give a shot or continue with this. Maybe I will try the lowest possible option that theruare give and if it doesnt come up with anything I will continue with this. Thanks for the all hep. I will try to bid for 33$.

Huh?? I'm not sure what you're saying or what you're trying to do here.

If you're talking about bidding $33 and being done that's not the intent of the suggested strategy... our first suggested bid is almost always too low as it'd designed to make sure you don't overbid and still get you to your maximum bid (or a reasonable bid) within the suggested strategy.

Is your $330 all-in rate at the Polo Towers the total for two rooms?

@thereuare that is right. 330 for 2 rooms including all taxes, fees, etc. for 3 nights. I think for vegas I am going with this one. Next time when I would like to have something more special I would definetely try your advice and do bidding. Actually I am thinking of using them for Los Angeles and San Diego. I will try my luck that way. Thanks for your help.

PRICELINE only guarantees one bed/double occupancy. You can request two beds, but the hotel can say no or charge more or say yes. HOTWIRE is a better choice, as you can indicate the amount of people and guarantee some form of bedding for the entire party (2 beds or 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofa.)

Let us know how you'd like to proceed.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
