rialto Posted May 15, 2013 Author Report Posted May 15, 2013 Thanks, I used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for my search. The 4* Midtown east option is now listed at $138 a night.Or do I have a better chance at PRICELINE for any Manhattan 3.5-4* hotel (<$130)?
thereuare Posted May 15, 2013 Report Posted May 15, 2013 PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, with PRICELINE you have to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid. With HOTWIRE you can know a little more about the hotel such as user reviews and TA reviews which can give a little comfort before purchasing... as well as some of the amenities offered by hotel which can be important if something like Free Breakfast or a Pool is important to you; you can also use this hotel information to take a guess as to the property before your purchase.Based upon the above, which is best for any given stay depends upon the goal... is the least expensive property the desired goal OR are you willing to pay a little more to know some of the amenities, reviews, and take a guess as to the property?Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. rialto Posted May 15, 2013 Author Report Posted May 15, 2013 The price for these two hotels (3.5* and 4*) already seem quite low to me, so in that case, I would like to take a guess and know more about the amenities and the hotel itself.
thereuare Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 Best guess for the 3.5* would be the Affinia 50 while for the 4* my guess would be the Doubletree Metropolitan.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
