RB84 Posted May 11, 2013 Report Posted May 11, 2013 Hi, I recently ended up with a not very successful deal.I used the express deal on priceline and agreed on a 4* hotel in central park south for $165. the problem was on the deal it said guaranteed free internet and bed choices available but after contacting the hotel (Renaissance Hotel 57) it turned out that they charge a $16.95 daily fee for wifi in room and the worst was that our room is a double bed. I was really frustrated and eventually canceled my reservation. so now I'm trying to find another express deal 3.5* or 4* mostly in theater district 5/26- 5/28 I don't care about the internet now, but I don't wana end up in a double bed. I'm coming with my husband so we need queen/king bed.please if anybody has any tip about that. it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot
thereuare Posted May 11, 2013 Report Posted May 11, 2013 See my recent reply to your previous thread:So that you're not surprised on any future purchases, the free wi-fi designation is listed since (i believe) this property offers free wireless internet in the lobby (it's paid if you want internet in your guest room) and the 'bed choice' is an option that needs to be selected during the check-out process on PRICELINE... not for you to call the hotel afterwards and make the request; sometimes the bed choice you want may cost more than the price shown which is for 'standard' room, but this will be reflected in your purchase when you make that selection. The only way to ensure at least a Queen bed is if the bed choice option is shown and offers a Queen or King bed option and you choose that option during the check-out process. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. RB84 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Report Posted May 11, 2013 thank you but here's the problem. In the express deal I chose, it said that bed choice is available but when I was checking out I tried to find where to get the bed type but there wasn't any. they only mentioned that you'll send the bed type in a request to the hotel and that's what I did and then I discovered we got double bed and they told me they'll try to answer our request upon availability!! so now I don't trust the bed choice they show outside the deals on priceline anymore.
thereuare Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 Repeat your search for 5/26-5/28 and look at the 3.5* Downtown property that shows a bed choice and when clicking thru shows:$114 per night Club Size Queen Bed Free Wifi And Bottled Water$129per night Standard Queen Bed Desk Free Wifi Bottled Water$143 per night Superior Room With Kitchenette Queen Bed Wifi$158 per night One Room Suite With Kitchenette Q Bed And SofaThis is what you want to see in order to ensure bed-type (and i see this didn't appear for your previous purchase and understand the confusion)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
