mom2preston Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 Has anyone recently gotton the gaylord texan when doing name your own price. I know if I bid around 50 for a 4 star I will get one of the typical 4 star dfw hotels like the westin/hyatt etc. I was wondering if I said id pay like 90 if im likely to get the gaylord since my bid is higher. Or will I likely still get one of the westin/hyatt hotels when I could have actually bid much lower and gotton the same hotel.
Romelle Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 If you do a search on "gaylord", using the white search box and selecting "This Forum", that will answer your question as to whether anyone has recently received the Gaylord. I just did that search, and the last successful bid was back in 2011. It really isn't recommended to bid higher than necessary. There is the possibility you might receive some non-typical hotel, but what is much more likely is you will simply overpay for the typical ones.Have you considered using Hotwire? The admins here can usually give you a pretty good educated guess as to what you might receive, if you provide all the details of a specific offer - date, rate, full list of amenities, and how many occupants in your search.
