Icyblue04 Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 We'll be in Vegas from 6/15-17 with another couple and we would like to stay together in one room at Venetian hotel. Our budget is around $150/night. Is it appropriate? Also which zone should we bid for? I don't know if I should include both zone 7&8 (las Vegas strip vicinity North) or just 7 (LV strip North)?
yellowdog Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding :) You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE You have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) you select. And please note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, which means you may receive a room with only one bed and the hotel could assign you a room with only one bed. You could request a room with two beds, but the hotel could be unable, or unwilling, to accommodate your request... or charge an additional fee if they are willing to accommodate you request. If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive. Also which zone should we bid for?If you decide to go for PRICELINE so don't use Strip Vicinity North, just Strip NorthOur budget is around $150/night. Is it appropriate? It's always hard to predict but I would guess that you're OK with this.Let us know your thoughts around this and we'll go from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
