bluetulip Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Hi My son is going to be there for a Karate Competition at Japanese Cultural Center on Sutter Street. This is our first time in San Francisco. We would like to stay close to Japanese Cultural Center as much as possible. There are three of us. Our budget is about $90/night. Please help me on how I should bid on priceline or should i try hotwire? Thank you so much.
yellowdog Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, which means you may receive a room with only one bed and the hotel could assign you a room with only one bed. You could request a room with two beds, but the hotel could be unable, or unwilling, to accommodate your request... or charge an additional fee if they are willing to accommodate you request.HOTWIRE guarantees sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search... this often means two beds in the room, but the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc.We would like to stay close to Japanese Cultural Center as much as possibleYou need to be willing to stay anywhere within the shaded zone you can se on the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE mapsLet us know your thoughts about PRICELINE or HOTWIRE and we'll find out the best zone for you and get you going.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases and searches.

bluetulip Posted May 18, 2013 Author Report Posted May 18, 2013 I have Hilton Honor points which are good enough for 2 nights. I am thinking that I am going use the point for the weekend and book 2 weeknights. Please help me with strategy to bid for Civic, Financial District, Fisherman Wharf, Japan Town, USE, USE area? Are there a strategy for car rental as well? Thank you

For the last zone above did you mean USW?Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find for a 4* hotel during these dates, as i think $90 is not going to be in the right ballpark given current rates i'm seeing. Are there a strategy for car rental as well? Please post in the Car Rental section of the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks.
