Priceline Hotel: San Francisco from 7/17 to 7/21, 4* Hotel

Hi

My son is going to be there for a Karate Competition at Japanese Cultural Center on Sutter Street. This is our first time in San Francisco. We would like to stay close to Japanese Cultural Center as much as possible. There are three of us. Our budget is about $90/night. Please help me on how I should bid on priceline or should i try hotwire? Thank you so much.

Note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, which means you may receive a room with only one bed and the hotel could assign you a room with only one bed. You could request a room with two beds, but the hotel could be unable, or unwilling, to accommodate your request... or charge an additional fee if they are willing to accommodate you request.

HOTWIRE guarantees sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search... this often means two beds in the room, but the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc.

We would like to stay close to Japanese Cultural Center as much as possible

You need to be willing to stay anywhere within the shaded zone you can se on the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE maps

I have Hilton Honor points which are good enough for 2 nights. I am thinking that I am going use the point for the weekend and book 2 weeknights. Please help me with strategy to bid for Civic, Financial District, Fisherman Wharf, Japan Town, USE, USE area? Are there a strategy for car rental as well? Thank you

Please confirm that you're comfortable bidding on PRICELINE with the occupancy issue mentioned above. For the last zone above did you mean USW?

Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find for a 4* hotel during these dates, as i think $90 is not going to be in the right ballpark given current rates i'm seeing.

Are there a strategy for car rental as well?
